Why Is My Solar System Not Producing Enough Power?
The usual suspects, ranked by how often we actually find them.
Underperformance usually has a mundane cause. Soiled or shaded panels, a tripped DC isolator, a string with a failed connector, an inverter derating in heat, or settings that were changed and never restored account for most of what we find.
Season matters too. Shorter winter days and a lower sun angle reduce output legitimately, so a comparison should always be against the same month in a previous year rather than against last month.
Consumption changes are the other half of the story. A new appliance, a pool pump on a longer cycle or a geyser element failing on can make a healthy system feel weak.
We do not diagnose remotely. A physical inspection of panels, wiring, isolators, inverter logs and battery data is what separates a setting issue from a hardware fault.
